This mid-priced hang-out spot with a stylish design resplendent in wood, concrete and copper features an indoor bar with the option of a roomy outdoor rooftop patio with heaters and fireplaces. One of the perks of this place is that if you order any entree, you have the option of bottomless mimosas for $30. Meals to be had at 620 Jones range from pizza and mac and cheese to chicken wings, portabello mushroom burgers and truffle oil popcorn. As if it couldn’t get any better, online reviews attest that the bartenders make gin fizzes with the perfect ratio of gin, soda and lime juice.

The Sky Terrace rooftop bar at Medjool offers a fantastic view of the City By The Bay. In the early evening, this four-story bar and restaurant, sharing space with the Elements Hotel, is a nice upscale bar and restaurant, but by ten o’clock, it becomes a dance club, complete with a DJ doing mashups of your favorite songs. The food is decidedly Mediterranean and features Southern European (coffee-marinated flat iron steak with potato cake and red wine sauce), North African (seafood b’stilla including shrimp and calamari with preserved lemon and Moroccan spices) and Middle Eastern dishes (the hummus, tabbouleh and baba ghanouj sampler).

Located atop the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel and not terribly far from the Caltrain Station, this bar and lounge gives you a fantastic view of San Francisco from thirty-nine floors up through floor-to-ceiling windows resplendent in arty, decorative patterns. Among the recommended drinks on the menu are mojitos, blood orange martinis and B-52s with rich layers of Kahlua and Bailey’s Irish cream, the latter being a perfect accompaniment for the rich chocolate cake served here.

Located just about at the northeastern tip of the San Francisco peninsula, and renowned for its lamb burgers, Sens Restaurant also offers lamb tartare, shrimp, mushroom flatbread, patatas bravas and paella, to name just a few, served by its particularly friendly and solicitous waitstaff. Sens also boasts reasonably priced drinks and a fantastic view of San Francisco’s Ferry Building, making for a perfect place to gather for happy hour or dinner.

Located right on the shoreline of the San Francisco Bay, Waterbar’s signature cocktails include the slightly sweet Pomegranate Refresher or the cucumber-infused Three Sheets. The view overlooking the Bay Bridge is gorgeous, and on clear nights you can see the stars – a refreshing anomaly in any major city. In addition to the savory seafood dishes that feature crab, halibut and oysters the View also offers excellent New York steaks, gumbo, and duck confit.
